Home Meal Delivery For Seriously Ill Patients
Home meal delivery for seriously ill patients has been the mission of Project Angel Heart for two decades. Project Angel Heart has been preparing and hand delivering nutritious meals to improve quality of life, at no cost, to those coping with life-threatening illness. In 2010, Project Angel Heart prepared and delivered more than 415,000 meals to more than 1,850 clients in the Denver and Colorado Springs area. Project Angel Heart prepares and hand-delivers nutritious home meals to people living with cancer, heart disease, end-stage renal disease, and more than 400 other diseases.
We know the challenges facing those living with life-threatening illness. And, we understand the role of quality nutrition and comforting cuisine for nourishment. Our staff works closely with clients, family members and medical professionals to address each client as an individual. Beginning with the highest quality ingredients, our Executive Chef, staff and volunteers come together each and every day to chop, sauté and stir on behalf of our clients. We learn about the unique and heightened nutritional requirements of our community, and provide food, for life. Food is a highly individualized experience, and accordingly, we are able to adjust and modify our home meal delivery for most medically necessary restrictions, individual tastes and other considerations.
Our organization relies on volunteer involvement to best serve our community each and every day. Volunteers help with meal preparation and delivery, fundraising, special events, assist in the office, share their professional expertise and serve as advocates. Project Angel Heart volunteers are help to strengthen the organization’s existing home meal delivery programs, add new programs, procure funds and resources, add specialized skills and talents and increase public awareness.
Project Angel Heart is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, funded predominantly by individual donors. Additional funding comes from special events, sponsorships, foundation and government grants and corporate contributions. The organization serves seven counties, including Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, El Paso and Jefferson.
